This little known plot near Kistler and Dehlinger’s property on Vine Hill Rd. in Sebastopol is showing that it can compete with its neighbors. On the nose: strawberries, cream, cassis and slight anise character. The bright acidity keeps the flavors fresh and lifts the aromatics. The influence of the stem inclusion during ferment adds texture and earthy, herbal characters. Assertive, but friendly tannins create the frame work for this complex, multi-layered Pinot Noir that should be great to age for up to 10 years This wine demonstrates that powerful wines can be produced at lower than average alcohol levels for California.

Josh Raynolds, International Wine Cellar

Light red. High-pitched red berry and cherry aromas are complicated by fresh rose, lavender and cinnamon. Strikingly fresh pinot, offering pure red fruit and brown spice flavors and a sexy undertone of candied flowers. The spiciness lingers on the long, gently sweet finish, which strongly echoes the red berry note.
